Author, Podcaster, Creative, Advocate and Lightworker
First and foremost, I’m a devoted mum of three, bereaved of one; my son, Ben. I am trained in various healing modalities and have been studying meditation and energy healing for a number of years.
I have always enjoyed writing and particularly the sort that is fuelled by a healthy dose of humour. I used to write stories as a child, when our family was on holiday. However, I didn’t start writing properly until I was in my thirties and began writing my first novel, Hatch Match Dispatch as a screenplay in 2010. However, a few years later, I decided to write it as a novel, independently publishing it in 2019, just after Ben died. I used to bore him with anecdotes in hospital and he helped me shape the next few books with his many witty ideas, which have also been added to over the last few years by my beautiful daughters and husband. I also love writing poetry and lyrics, something I find helpful, especially in grief.
As well as writing, I am an advocate for stem cell donation and in February 2022, I began a podcast called Magical Match, after chatting with Andy Mitchell (@BluesVCancer on Twitter / X) and other like-minded individuals on Twitter Space. I have the good fortune to chat with incredible people about the importance of stem cell donation, sharing their amazing and inspirational stem cell stories to help support others in similar situations and highlight the need for more donors and a more diverse stem cell register.
I am currently working on a very exciting project based around the topic of stem cell donation, which I will be introducing here in the coming months.
In quiet solitude, I have gravitated occasionally to the paintbrushes and the canvas boards and love to create paintings of a kind, particularly ones with trees and angelic beings within, using acrylics. Paintings and prints will be available on this website in due course.
In my spare time, I love walking our dogs and I love to be with my girls, my darling husband and our menage of animals, whom I adore.
If you are a creator or charity connected with stem cell donation or supporting children with long-term illness; and would like to collaborate, I’m always happy to discuss new ideas, particularly around writing!
